The storyline of Global Agenda is probably not set in stone, as it is one of the games main aims to let the players decide how the story arc unravels and progresses. However, some basic back-story is required for any game, and GA is no exception.

Main articles: Pre-Commonwealth Era and Post-Commonwealth Era

In the wake of severe global disaster, the political face of 22nd century earth has changed and player-created factions scheme against each other for power. Traditional full-scale wars a thing of the past, factions must rely on covert agencies, teams of elite special operatives able to seize and defend key facilities. The future of humanity is their battleground, where knowledge is power, technology is a race, and everyone has an agenda[1]. The storyline is expected to be mostly player-shaped through territorial warfare between various agencies. The vast majority of the storyline is still more or less a mystery. It is expected that more will be revealed during the beta phase. This would have to come from the developers themselves though, since the beta is under a non-disclosure agreement.

Character StorylineEdit

Main article: Tutorial missions

Main article: Sonoran Desert missions

Following the successful escape of the player's character from the Commonwealth, their character discovers that he or she is gradually mutating due to a mysterious serum in their bloodstream.

Fan FictionEdit

There are several fan fiction articles about Global Agenda that have been released - most of them small and overall not progressing the storyline. However, the Hi-Rez team have picked out two stories[2][3]; one of which also seems to be the beginning of the game, as the confirmed beginning of the game is that you are a fugitive from the government, or as they are known in GA, The Commonwealth.[4]

Below is the first paragraph of each piece of fanfiction, and you may click the link at the bottom to read the full articles.

The Utpoian - Nathan KnaackEdit

Steven made a conscious effort to awaken several minutes before his alarm sounded every morning, creeping out of bed as quietly as he could to peer out the window at the street a few stories below. The immaculately cleaned road had never suffered an automobile on its surface, as most of the traffic in Commonwealth Prime was airborne, clogging the skies above the incredible city in a perpetual jam of personal vehicles, public transportation, and security patrols. Ground level was reserved for pedestrians, with narrow walkways punctuated by neatly trimmed gardens and every imaginable shape of abstract sculpture.

The Cure for Life - Nathan KnaackEdit

At first I thought it was another one of those parades they stage from time to time, where common citizens shuffle through our facility to examine the condition of the prisoners. It had something to do with maintaining civil rights, someone once said. The easiest way to tell was when the shackles were taken off, as if anyone herded past our cells wasn’t going to see the raw skin of our wrists and piece together what had really been going on all that time. I guess that’s what happens when you grow up in a place where the government is everywhere and everything; you start to trust it more than your own eyes.
